If you’re a business owner, you’re likely going to spend a lot of time at your office or store. From the start-up phase, and even later on in the life of the business, the owner is the captain of this ship and they spend most of their time at the helm.
If this is your situation, it’s also likely fair to say that if you’re going to spend a lot of time in one place, you need it to be comfortable. Here at LA Homes, we understand that need, so whether you’re moving into a new space, or need a facelift on your current space, we have the experience and knowledge to help you have the commercial space of your dreams.
With a focus on open workspaces in offices, we wanted to shine a light, literally and figuratively on some office space trends for 2K20!
Natural light: We spend most of our adult lives under artificial light, and in our offices, it’s often the harsh glare of fluorescent lighting. This might sound like common sense, but living things, and in our case specifically, humans, need, want, and crave natural light. If you’re renovating your office space, or even your brick & mortar store, big windows, all-glass doors, and when possible, skylights bring in more natural light, which has been proven to positively affect your team! Bonus points for natural light giving you an opportunity to turn off the artificial lights and save some money!
Sustainability: We know of someone who has this old TV stand that looks like old barn wood. We asked them where they got it and it turns out it was old barn wood that their uncle had stolen off a dilapidated old barn. Reduce, reuse, and recycle has made its way into the design world, and turning something old into something new can save you money, gives you a great talking piece, and also can help the environment!
Retro Chic: There was this song in the ’90s featuring Dame Shirley Bassey of James Bond’s Goldfinger fame that said “History Repeats Itself” and nowhere is that truer than in renovation and design. This can be done in a number of ways but starts with embracing the nuances and individualities of your space and allowing those to shine. The beauty is though, that it doesn’t stop there, because the design and decoration of your space can accentuate those retro pieces!
So, if you’re considering changing up your current space, or are moving into a new space that you want to put your fingerprint on, get in touch with us and we’ll help you make the commercial space of your dreams!
